Things I Don’t Understand: Washcloths

So you say you take a baby towel, moisten it, put soap on it and rub your face? Ok, I’m totally with you. Now you then take the baby towel, rinse it out, and hang it to dry? Ok. Ok. I get it. Then you take the baby towel moisten it, soap it up, and then place it back on your face? Really? Your face?

Shenanigans called.

This treatment is fine for my countertops, but not for my face. I always just rub soap on my face and splash it off. Sure, it looks like a harbor seal has been frolicking in my bathroom, but my face doesn’t have old moist-cloth cooties.

I agree. I've never had a use for a washcloth when I can just soap up with my hands and call it good.

Nor do I understand the need for a terrycloth belted jacket, as Greg Behrendt explains....

Hrm. I can't help but wonder if the concept of a washcloth is being misunderstood. You see, you don't use just one... you use several.

I come from a long line of wash cloth users. See... Yes, you do put soap on the washcloth, then put it on your face. Then, you place the washcloth out to dry, so that it didn't mildew. The next day, you use a new, clean wash cloth. On saturday, you wash all the washcloths and start over. It's very similar in concept to underwear.

I'm still incredulous. That seems like a lot of extra work. I already have hands. They dry mildew free and can be reused!

Trust me, I understand where your coming from. I just feel that washcloths scrub my pores a little better than my fingernails do. Honestly, when I was with washcloths, my face has alot less acne. I have uber-sensitve skin.

Your skin is fine.

My skin is a punishment from the Lord for all the pre-marital sex and f-bomb dropping.

Yes. It's fine, but only because I go out of my way to treat it well. And from time to time, perscription medication...

When I don't take care of it, I get zits that, when they pop, could make a bukake star blush...
