Doctors say he should be fine, but he is so little and has to stay at the hospital till April.
So far today:
- a friend needed me to watch her kids while she was in the emergency room
- a friend needed to be rescued from the airport
- my brother is father to a 1 lb 11 oz baby two months premature a thousand miles away
I cannot help my brother, I can't even get out of my driveway.
I feel absolutely impotent.

Congratulations Auntie Qtilla. A hospital stay until April IS worrisome, but just because you are not there does not mean that you aren't supportive or helpful. (Also, NO ONE can get out of their driveways. This is madness.) You will be a fantastic auntie and someday, Ponchito might call you "Aunt Qtilla who comes to see me on the plane". That's what my BFF's 3 year old (my unofficial niece) calls me.
Sending warm, positive "welcome to the world" vibes Ponchito's way...
Thank you. I will try very hard to be helpful and positive.
He's soooo tiny!
Is that picture "lifesize"?!?
Congratulations on becoming an aunt, and best of luck to your brother and sister-in-law's new baby.
April seems a long way off, but glad to hear he should be fine and healthy.
Yay for Auntie Q!
Ponchito looks like a scrapper. He'll do fine. We'll all think good thoughts for him.
If Ponchito is anything like what you sound like, he will kick some a$$! Sending warm Holiday vibes and wishes to you and your family (esp. wee Ponchito)
Thanks everyone! I will remember to give Ponchito updates periodically. When he weighs one sack of flour worth, we should all have celebratory cocktails.
