I don't know what it is about the muppets that make me happy.
I saw somewhere some analysis about how all the Muppets were failures. Kermit couldn't keep the show running, Fozzy wasn't funny, the Chef couldn't cook. The exception was Rowlf, who I believe was acknowledged as Jesus.

I only know this because Jim pointed it out last night... you know, right after I made sad eyes and he rearranged the Tivo so that Letters to Santa would be recorded. (Also in HD- just in case.)
Every Christmas Eve (and I mean every, as far back as my memory goes), my brother and I watch The Muppet Christmas Carol. Kermit is Bob Crachit. Gonzo and Rizzo are the narrators. We sing along to the songs and IT IS AWESOME.
Even if we're watching it at 1:00 AM, we never miss a viewing. This year I upgraded us to the DVD version. That's right, the last few years we've had to dig the VCR out of the closet and hook it up to watch our VHS tape.
I guess all I'm trying to say is that I have a deep and abiding love for the Muppets. Gonna go set my DVR now. :)
I love that one too! I also only have it on VHS. It has never occurred to me to upgrade. That is a good idea.
