Japan is all ticked about North Korea's missile testing, not because of their proximity, but I would venture to say because they are worried about getting their comeuppance. Perhaps instead of visiting the Yasukuni shrine to dead soldiers (including convicted war criminals), the PM should be apologizing for the wide scale murder, rape etc. of the civilian populations of the countries it invaded a mere 50 years ago. I'm just saying.
